Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”
Gracious Lord, we give you thanks for everything continuously. We give you thanks for the sun that rises and sets, the moon that basks over us at night and for the people who make our lives complete. We give you thanks for the trees that provide us with shade and beauty and the plants that give us sustenance and bountiful gifts to share. Lastly, we give you thanks for giving us the strength, knowledge, self-reliance, curiosity, compassion and courage to follow the teachings of Jesus and to strive to make disciples and help others. In Jesus’ name, we give thanks. Amen.
