Christ United Methodist Church is seeking an Assistant Music Director to join its staff.
Christ UMC is a vibrant church with a diverse congregation located in Piscataway, NJ. The
church has a strong music ministry that engages in a variety of musical offerings to encourage
and deepen worship.
Job Type: Part-time (avg. 15 hours/week)
Salary: $13,000 per year
Position Summary – To assist in the leadership and provision of various forms of worship artistry
to the church including:
Essential functions
- Provide leadership and development of adult and youth bell choirs – including the
development of expertise for both choirs and the presentation of the choirs to the congregation on a regular basis - Assist in the artistic and spiritual leadership of children’s programs
- Coordination with graphic designer to provide visual support for musical presentations
- Assist music director in worship planning
- Provide musical coverage for worship services, as needed
- Cover and/or assist with rehearsals of choirs
