“Why do people give money to support churches and other causes? The number one reason is because they were asked.” Research surveys in various denominations all cite stewardship campaigns as a major cause of increased giving, when used as part of a year-round focus on generosity.
GNJ’s Breakthrough Series, Leadership Academy and Stewardship Foundation will offer a free, four-week worship series titled Generous, plus three 45-minute workshop sessions on keys to planning, implementing and following up for a successful stewardship campaign. Together, the two components will help congregations pursue faith-rooted, dynamic stewardship campaigns this fall.
This Leadership Academy course is designed to walk you through each step of a stewardship campaign over three sessions, while using the Breakthrough worship resources over four weeks. Participation in the three, monthly workshops can be timed for leading up to, during and after the worship series.
Everything that your congregation needs for a successful and inspiring stewardship campaign is included to help you grow your giving, as you plan and implement each step.
Pastors should form a team to plan and lead the stewardship campaign. We urge pastors and teams to register and attend the series of three sessions via Zoom, so they can walk through each step of the process together.
The Zoom workshop sessions are scheduled for:
Wednesday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 12, at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m.
Register now* for your access to these Zoom meetings led by the Rev. Brian Roberts, Executive Director of the UM Stewardship Foundation of Greater New Jersey.
