After a good small group conversation or day of service, I always think to myself “I didn’t know how much I needed that.” Throughout the pandemic, monthly Zoom check-ins with other colleagues were a valuable means of sharing ideas, support, and prayer in an unsteady time.
When everything in the world is abundantly outside my control, joining with other members of the church to pack lunches, collect coats, or any other ministry we do here at First UMC in Somerville, is the necessary reminder that we can each make a difference in the body of Christ.
These relationships built on learning and serving together prove to be durable sources of strength, and I’m grateful to be able to lead and participate in them as part of my life’s ministry.
